Course Summary:
During this highly interactive course, participants will learn the five components of emotional intelligence while focusing on self-awareness and self-regulation. Because implicit/explicit bias is defined as the beliefs we have about others, both conscious and unconscious, it is vital that we have profound self-awareness and develop exceptional social skills in law enforcement environments. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is utilized to explain how emotional dysregulation can affect perception and, therefore, actions. Understanding Emotional Intelligence and understanding personal implicit/explicit bias leads to improved decisions/behaviors while working with offenders.
