Course Summary: This comprehensive course addresses the job impacts and stressors probation staff face. The course will answer the question, why are wellness practices and resources important for probation staff? In a participatory environment, students will hear about common stressors, many unique to law enforcement, including emotional, psychological, physical, and procedural. Participants will look at each type of stressor, and all the potential impacts to staff and their overall well-being. This course will provide participants with the opportunity to identify the impacts they are experiencing, allowing them to better seek resources for wellness.
Performance Objectives: At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

- Understand what wellness means and why it is important for probation staff.
- List two emotional/psychological stressors common for law enforcement. (Preferably ones impacting you)
- List two physical stressors common for law enforcement. (Preferably ones impacting you)
- List two procedural stressors common for law enforcement. (Preferably ones impacting you)
- List two wellness resources available and how to access them.
