Course Summary: This course equips participants with the knowledge and skills to engage respectfully and inclusively with individuals of all abilities, fostering fairness and equity in their interactions. Law enforcement professionals, including probation officers, frequently work with individuals who have visible and invisible disabilities, making comprehensive training in accessibility, accommodations, and trauma-informed care essential. By exploring how disability intersects with the justice system, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the importance of reasonable accommodation, mental health awareness, and strategies for ethical supervision. Participants will leave with actionable tools to navigate diverse abilities with sensitivity and professionalism, ensuring their practices align with the principles of inclusion and justice.
